Katie Boyce was born in Northamptonshire and studied Fine Art and Art History at Coventry University.  After an internship with the Herbert Art Gallery in Coventry she studied for an MA in Museum and Gallery Studies at the University of Leicester.  Her first ‘real’ curatorial job was as the Gallery Officer for the Alfred East Art Gallery.  In 2017 she joined Rugby Art Gallery as their Senior Visual Arts Officer.  After two years she set up her own consultancy business, helping small galleries with business and audience development as well as developing Northants Open Studios, which has grown and developed over the last 3 years.  She is now back at Rugby Art Gallery as their Senior Exhibitions and Programming Officer.

This is a private visit to Rugby Art Gallery and includes a talk by Katie Boyce, their Senior Exhibitions and Programming Officer, on the history and development of the Rugby Collection.  The Collection on display at the time is to be curated by David Remfrey RA to complement his own exhibition alongside the Rugby Collection. He is the Director of Drawing at the Royal Academy and will be the key player in the selection and curation of the RA Summer show in 2023.

ELTON HALL near Peterborough is a beautiful baronial Hall. It has been the ancestral home of the Proby family since 1660. The Hall lies in a 3800 acre estate, through which the River Nene runs. It is a Grade 1 listed building, incorporating 15th, 17th, 18th and 19th century parts.

We have organised a day trip to this outstanding memorial site. The 150 acre site is home to over 350 thought-provoking memorials covering both military and civilian associations, along with tributes for individuals. In addition, it features around 300,000 trees and is home to a variety of flora and fauna, making it a haven for nature lovers to enjoy.  Further details and an application form can be downloaded from the Documents Section
